MY ALLSTATE HORROR STORY

On Feb 24,2004 I discovered a pipe leak in my home. I called a leak detector and they came out the same day, I also contacted Allstate to start a claim. At first Allstate was very concerned. It turns out that I had 3 pipe leaks under the slab, and about 80,000 gallons of water had leaked out under pressure.

Within 2 days Mold was found and all the baseboards and crown molding was cracking. We were told we would have to leave the house within 2 weeks. There was nothing in the area to rent so I bought another house and moved.

Allstate brought in their experts who said the only damage was cosmetic............ They never opened any walls to see if there was any damage to the structure or footings. Guess what the house is starting to sink. I could not find anyone who would do the repair as Allstate was only allowing for COSMETIC fixes. Allstate found a contractor to bid on the job and the bid was $289,000. Allstate approved the bid but the contractor said he could not do the job as this would not fix the many problems and the Cosmetic fix was a farce. During this time from Feb 2004 until March 2005 Allstate stopped responding to letter, phone calls etc. I hired a lawyer and started the process.

I have spent close to $500,000 on legal fees and we are just now in the depo stage. Allstate uses the Law firm of Luce, Forward in San Diego for all it's cases and can they burn up money. the have sent out over 125 requests for documents of which 110 have no bearing on the case. The true cost of fixing the house is it needs to be torn down as there is still a lake under the house and standing water is still there after almost 3 years. Allstate and it's hired guns are trying to break me and take their offer. I will fight them till the end. They have not once done what they said they would do.

I would ask you all to look at your policy and check for water leaks and mold as they have a lot of new rules regarding coverage. The case Number is CV 06-01067 in District court Central District of Calif. Allstate always tries to remove you from State Court as they did to me. Let me know if I can be of help, as I have learned a lot from this, 

MY POINT IS THEY ARE CORRUPT AND DOING PEOPLE WRONG.

Please if anyone has insurance with these people please cancel. The only way to fight large companies is with the lose of accounts and money.

Big business and the insurance industry have always been able to take care of themselves. The little people need protection from them. This country was founded on the common law right of the little guy to get into court with his hired gun to fight the oppressor, be it big government or big business. Take that away and we have nothing left. Look around. It's being whittled away, bit by bit, caps on damages here, restrictions on jury trials there. It won't end until we recognize the enemy and join together to take a stand against them. It will take the little people to do this together".
